I know this has been discussed a thousand times but I'm trying to get some consistency with my temps. My display tank, 125 gallon, has two 200 watt heaters ran off an inkbird controller which consistently reads 77.7 degrees. I have checked it with my two thermometers and that is pretty spot on.

I have a 300 watt heater in the sump, which holds about 20 gallons, and this is where I get the inconsistency on the readings. I have that one hooked up on my Apex to turn on at 77.5 and off at 78. I get readings from the temp probe that constantly fluctuate from 77.2 to 78.7.

I'm sure I have too much heater for my set up but I'm looking for some advice here. I will add that the temp in my house does fluctuate from 70 degrees to about 62.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
