Picked this up a LFS and don't know what it is. Have had it for a few months and it is doing OK, just don't know if it can be doing better. Thanks!

Thanks all, I'll go look it up. I couldn't come up with the right word for the search, now that I know it totally makes sense, it does kind of look like a cactus!

Thanks for the IDs. Yeah, it looks great which is why I ended up with it, I didn't mean to buy an SPS, but it looked so awesome I forgot what I was doing! It seems to be doing well in my tank, and has even grown some. Sooooo, I'm thinking maybe I'll give it an SPS tank mate. What type of SPS would be similar in requirements and care?

Some Montiporas, Cyphastrea, some Pocilliporas, Hydnophora, and Psammocora would be some that might be similar in care.

Some easy Montipora to search for would be digitata and capricornis, stay away from setosa, multi-colored montis, and really anything that seems pricey. A good rule of thumb with SPS if the frag is cheap then it is probably doing really well for someone.
