Help with raising PH

Im completely new to raising PH in my tank, its something ive never really had a problem with or worried about. But i am attacking these dinos for good and its part of the plan, i just need to know how to do it without overdosing or whats the best way to do it and over what period of time, i want to get it up around 8.5, any idea how long i should maintain it? thank you!

Baking soda will raise alkalinity but have a minimal impact on pH.

Open a window! Get a little more air flowing in the room. If you can run a small air pump bringing in air from outside into the sump it'll do wonders.

As long as your other params are in order, don't worry about pH.

Never really worried about it...i just want to raise it as ive read it may help with dinos

pH fluctuates through the day. The consumption of carbon dioxide during the daylight hours, leads to some aquariums to become deficient in CO2 during the day, and the pH rises.If you are having dramatic fluctuations you can aerate the aquarium water to degass excess carbon dioxide. Also try using a salt mix with a naturally higher buffering capacity like Tropic Marin or add buffer to raise your alkalinity to help reduced the pH swings.

Guys, please read the question :) He wants to raise the pH to deal with dinos. Kalk is the way to do it, but make sure that you raise it slowly.
