I seem to get a lot of alerts saying someone started a thread, but can't figure out how to unsubscribe from those alerts. I don't see a need to get an alert about a new thread that I haven't seen yet.

Thanks

Select account next to your avatar up top, and click preferences, then scroll down and unselect alerts next to what you no longer want to receive.

Thanks. I'm having trouble figuring out which setting would stop these alerts shown in the attached picture.

Looks like you may be “watching” a forum or forums where these threads are being created. For example I “watch” this forum for new threads and to “unwatch” it I would click the button as seen below.

Check to make sure your not following certain forums for new threads.

Im on my phone right now, so things might look a little different. But on the top left the are 3 horizontal lines... click that to take you to your settings. Scroll down and you will see options for threads and forums you are watching. Look at those and remove what you don't want to see anymore. You may be subscribed to a forum and receiving notifications for everything post in that forum. This is also where you can look up those specific threads in your picture provided and remove them.

The other option is to open the threads in your notifications and just click the watch/unwatch button.

Looks like that was it! I was apparently watching the macroalgae forum. Will see if that fixes it. Thanks!
