Happy Friday!

Looking for some assistance as I am about to sign off on a new tank 72x30x24 CDA, I will getting a trigger systems platinum sump and will be using my N24 pax bellum algae reactor. So that leaves the skimmer to figure out, I don't want to oversize it as it will have good filtration but still need to figure out the right skimmer to complement the setup I have planned, Without rocks it will be roughly 265-285g, so with rocks assuming 200-220?

Here is what I had in mind.

Nyos 220/300 - https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/quantum-300-protein-skimmer-nyos.html (Thinking the 220 might be too small?)
Reef Octopus Elite 220 - https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/elite-220-int-9-super-cone-protein-skimmer-reef-octopus.html
Regal 250INT - https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/regal-250int-10-internal-protein-skimmer-varios-reef-octopus.html (Thinking this is too big with the filtration that will already be in place?)
Royal Exclusiv Double Cone 250 - https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/bubb...0-protein-skimmer-royal-exclusiv-usa-llc.html
Royal Exclusiv Double Cone 200 - https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/bubb...0-protein-skimmer-royal-exclusiv-usa-llc.html (think might be too small?)

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
D

I’d pick the octopus unit for reliability and parts availability if parts needed

Definitely oversize it.
* I'd get the Nyos 300 over the 220 (I have a 160 in my 200-gallon system, and I really wish I'd gone for the 220 - the 160 fills up a bit too quickly). Very quiet and it pulls an unbelievable amount of crap out. The Nyos has the odd quirk or two and spare parts can be an issue.
* Reef Octopus Elite 220 (always a trusted brand)

While I love my Nyos, I would probably go with the recommendation for the Reef Octopus in this scenario based on the size of your tank.

I would go the Regal 250-int for sure. I would not be concerned about it being oversized anyway, but in that case with the DC pump you can turn it down if you really want to.

I would go reef octo as well. They have always been very reliable and I find there tank recommendations for “heavy bioload” to be pretty spot on for the proper tank size.
Tough call between the regal and elite. I would lean toward the regal since it will give you a bit more headroom if you need it down the line

Thanks all its what I was thinking as well going with the Reef Octo 250int. I had the essence 130 on another tank than nyos160 and both are great but I remember the reef octo skim being top notch.
