I’m hoping I get a reply to this. Would your tank build design work for a smaller scale for a 36 long 10.8 gallon rimless aquarium with just more supports running perpendicular to the stands length and then being topped with plywood. The tank is 35.34 inches long by 7.87 x 9.8 high. I wanted the stand to be about 15 inches wide and 37 inches long. Just didn’t know if there was anything extra that needed to be done besides placing plywood on the top. Hoping for an answer soon so I can get started.

You aren't dealing with a tremendous amount of weight. I would think a basic 36" stand with 1 center brace should be enough.

Crabs, thanks for the tag, but he/she is looking to hear directly from @RocketEngineer , who is a member here. I will add to what @Dom stated....Rocket's design is way over engineered and will easily hold your small tank....and I agree with Dom, a single cross brace in the center of the top frame will add insurance. I'd also top with 3/4 plywood (or whatever metric they are selling that's close.)

I suggest something like this but made from say clear 1X3s. That way the tank is supported on all 4 edges but you get the extra ether you desire. HTH

Welcome to R2R! You dealing with something that only weights 100pounds filled with water, I personally wouldn't overthink something like that, I have a 20gallon tall quarantine tank, and I placed it on plastic roller cart whenever I need it. Picture of the cart below. Again plastic cart holding 20 gallons of water.

I know it’s not much weight compared to larger tanks but all I have in my home to set it on is a three shelf bookcase that I believe is made out of hardwood, but this particular bookcase has been discontinued so I cannot find what the weight limit is and I just don’t want to risk it other than that I have nothingthat I know for a fact would even be close to sturdy enough besides a solid oak buffet hutch in my kitchen, which I wouldn’t be able to view the tank on a as I could’ve stand in my living room

I had tagged him. As I was looking for DYI stands he kept showing up so I figured it’d be a good place to ask. As everyone keeps saying, I know my tank is small but I think I’m just gonna plan to go ahead with the “overkill” because I know at some point I will upgrade. I absolutely appreciate everyone’s responses, input and welcomes. Thank you so much.
