Help!

Looking for lighting and filter for 40 gal tank(36x18x18). It will be mixed tank. Any suggestions?

My own 40 breeder has a 150 watt metal halide on it with an oversized skimmer, besides that weekly water changes remain my main filtration.

For a lower budget option, I would install a 150 watt nicrew on the tank, but I think a skimmer is still a good idea. A hob filter in additional might also be beneficial if you have no sump. Thats just how I would do it, but there's plenty of ways.
