Hi all — my clownfish began to develop some very faint black spots — today was my first time seeing them. I thought it was that he was trying to host and the coral was stinging him ( I have no nems). The other day, he had no spots. Now he does. He is still acting the same, swimming all over, following my finger at the glass, and eating. It’s just he has these spots. I thought it was either something stress, hormone, or coral related, but then I see him have a little bit of white stringy poop, and I am like oh no. I think it is black spot disease. Yet, I am not sure. Also though, I have a court jester goby who had some stringy poop a couple days ago as well, yet he doesn’t have any spots. I was going to FW dip the clown — but the only issue is he has a lung deformity - even when I got him, which is the reason I bought him. He is a looks like a baby bulldog. I am worried how he would react to a FW dip. One of my guesses of cause may be, my new snails maybe? I got astrea snails from Tidal Gardens a little ago. He is my most recent fish. I have more coming sometime next week. This is a list of my inhabitants —
Finger Leather
GSP
Xenia
Zoas
Mushroom
Cat Eye Favia/brain
Pink Nepthea
Gorg
Astrea snails
Mangroves
Air Plants (on top)
Cleaner shrimp
Court jester goby
Clownfish
Here’s the pic — please help me.

Let's get a picture of the spots for ID. Best case scenario it's just a bit of pigment.

Yes, you are.
My eyes are nearly 50 years old and I can’t see much wrong.

I know :( But he has never had these before this isn’t the best picture though. When I get home, I’ll put in another one. If you zoom in you’ll surely seen them. They are there, I promise.

Sorry, I couldn’t see much either. Black spot disease, a turbellarian worm is often self-limiting, it doesn’t cause rapid death like ich or velvet does. It also doesn’t cause stringy feces, so that is a separate issue. I didn’t see any stinging corals on your list....

Stringy white poop indicates parasites from what I read when I was battling flukes with my poor clown rip
