Hi everyone,

I'm ready to get back into reef keeping after losing my 125g during Superstorm Sandy.
Heartbreak and work prevented me from starting over. Now that I'm retired and just moved to a place with a perfect spot, it's time to start again.
I attached some pictures of my previous tank...
So I'm in search of a 180 or larger reef ready tank and stand that's 6' long.
Anyone looking at upgrading or getting out of the hobby that wants to sell, please let me know.
I'm in NJ so pickup within 50 miles or so of New Brunswick would be great.

Welcome to the reefs!!
I'm down in Cherry Hill and have seen a few great deals!
I'll be sure to pass them along if I come across any others!

Hi all,
Thank you for the welcomes. I am hopefully picking up this 210 reef ready tank on Sunday.
It has a plain 40 as a sump so I'll probably use that as a QT tank and buy a new sump.
Having been away for awhile I need advice on current equipment.
Should I post a separate thread for each item or just list them?
For instance, I'm looking at a used Reef Octopus 200 Int Prime Protein Skimmer w/ Aquatrance pump. Good skimmer for under $200, or should I be looking elsewhere?
I can get a less than a yr old Current USA Orbit led system (2x lights, controller, wave pump, remote, etc) from the guy I'm getting the tank from. I don't know the exact model number but he has it in a 265 fw tank. I'm going to borrow a PAR meter and check it on Sunday. What numbers should I be looking for, especially considering I'm planning heavy SPS and possibly a clam near the sand bed?
Many other questions such as which sump to get, ATO, probes, etc.
Eventually I'd like to add a controller e.g. the Apex.
Ok, I'll stop now and wait for you kind folks to tell me where to post all these questions.
I ordered 200# base rock from ARC but it won't be here until end of the month or the beginning of November. Therefore I have some time to figure it all out.

Thanks again.

Welcome back, never hurts to check Facebook marketplace.
Actually found the tank I'm picking up Sunday on FB marketplace. There was a 180 reef in PA, but the seller decided to part it out instead of selling all at a discount.

Welcome, glad your here. I took a 10 year break as well. A lot of changes, good changes: LEDS and no longer striving for the ever elusive 0 nitrates and phosphate. Bad changes: coral prices and hard to find that beautiful and plentiful live rock we were so used to.

So, I got lucky and just brought this 210g with custom stand home yesterday. It was used for fw so a little bit of cleaning and new bulkheads before I add some water.

I'll be starting my build thread shortly.
