New to this, just started my tank 2 weeks ago, long time salt water admirer. 72 bowfront, only 40lb live sand and 20lb of live rock so far. Live in northwest ohio, lot of cool saltwater shops around here. Looking foreward to getting started with fish and coral!!!!

Hopefully quick question, since I started with live rock and sand do I need to throw a raw shrimp in?

No, the beneficial bacteria in the live rock and sand will colonize all other rock in the tank.
