My Nitrates are really high at the moment and i’m going to get my first fish tomorrow because my tank is fully cycled and i’m wondering if some tap water conditioner will solve the problem

100 rangeNothing is going to fix it fast. How high are we talking?
i’ve done a partial water change today about 10%Won't help. Nitrate reducing bacteria takes a really long time to colonize a tank, so your only options to remove it early on are
- let algae grow and manually remove it or even better cheato in a refugium to export it.
- water changes
An older tank can also use carbon dosing, but thats not something I would recommend that a beginner attempt, and even experienced reefers wait months into a tank before doing that.

LARGE water change. If your NO3 was 100, your 10% WC only reduced it to 90...i’ve done a partial water change today about 10%
Thats like throwing a spitball at a tank.i’ve done a partial water change today about 10%
how large??? wont that affect my beneficial bacteriaLARGE water change.
nothings in the tank and the tank is 2 weeks oldThats like throwing a spitball at a tank.
i wouldn’t add anything. What’s in the tank? How old?
BB is not in the water, it's in the rocks, sand, and mediahow large??? wont that affect my beneficial bacteria
ohhh so how big like 50 percent? or lessBB is not in the water, it's in the rocks, sand, and media
How large depends on when you're adding fish... If it's really tomorrow, them 50% is not out of the question.how large??? wont that affect my beneficial bacteria
How old is the tank? You can do a water change and add bacteria for ammonia and just a protector but it probably means the tank isn’t completely cycled yet.My Nitrates are really high at the moment and i’m going to get my first fish tomorrow because my tank is fully cycled and i’m wondering if some tap water conditioner will solve the problem
i don’t have enough water to do a 50% but i could postpone my fish getting to mondayHow large depends on when you're adding fish... If it's really tomorrow, them 50% is not out of the question.
Bottled bacteria will do nothing to remove nitratesHow old is the tank? You can do a water change and add bacteria but it probably means the tank isn’t completely cycled.
You need a much bigger one than that if you want to make a serious dent in it. 50% is doable if you don't have fish yet. Won't harm your biological filter.i’ve done a partial water change today about 10%
If there is no ammonia and some nitrates, the tank is cycled for the current bioloadHow old is the tank? You can do a water change and add bacteria but it probably means the tank isn’t completely cycled yet.
