High tds in ato container

I have a jbj ato with 5 gallon black resevoir. I am still very new to the hobby (only about 5 months) and finally got a tds meter last week. I tested my rodi water and it read 2 tds (i have since replaced do resin and added another di canister) and fixed that issue. The day I got my meter my top off water read over 400 tds. I emptied the resevoir and cleaned it with a 10:1 rodi and bleach solution. I let it dry outside in the sun for a day or 2 and filled it with top off water and had zero tds reading again. I checked it again today and it was off the charts again. Anyone have any insight as to why this is happening? I know something must be leaching from ago resevoir but is that unusual for a container that was built to be an ato reservoir?? I bought it used from a local SW guy and thought maybe it was from kalkwasser but afyer bleaching I am stumped. Any help would be extremely helpful

Try vinegar cleaning. Lots of water. Is it a new pump? If not did you clean it?

Also didn't say if you were hooking it up....check for a reverse siphon if you did. Doesn't take much SW at all to show high TDS.

Also RO/DI is like a sponge, it will pickup anything in the air unless your ATO container is tightly sealed.

kind of the samething is happening to me. RODI water coming out into a 5 gallon bucket is 0, when i empty into a 30 gallon tank for my mixing station it goes up to 40.
