I recently got into seahorse tank, and i just love it !!
For a creature that barely move theyre pretty cool, especially when they eat i wish they made slurping sound lol !!

Anyways back to the topic, from that love for seahorse i also try to slide in with their more openly swimming cousin, pipefish, are their care different than seahorse or are they just similar?
Please also give me a species reccomendation for me to start with

@Paul B is the man to ask!
I came to say the same. IIRC he has or had a spawning pair.
I'm sure a mature tank would be a requirement but I could be wrong, I've never kept them. I see them online in pony tanks so maybe their care is similar?

I've had a captive bred yellow multibanded pipefish in my 75g mixed reef tank since last year. It's been eating small frozen foods from the beginning and has been doing great. It handles any flow and none of the other fish bother it.

I feed frozen 4 times a day and it eats alongside my other fish. It also hunts for pods pretty much 24/7. I don't really have any other heavy pod eating fish in the tank, so there's not much competition.

It's been honestly one of the easiest fish I've had so far. I'd definitely recommend getting a captive bred one.

Came to second this. I bought a pair from Biota last January for my birthday. They are in a 200g tank, tangs, etc. They are super easy. The only thing I would say is to get some anemone guards for any powerheads. Even without anemones, those are standard procedure for me.

I feed frozen at least once a day, but flakes that break up they will even eat. The cool thing about them is they hunt all day, so I don't worry too much, however if I'm heading out of town I'll try to fatten them up a little by feeding frozen copepods, daphnia, or baby brine for a week before I'm gone.

I personally would start with a captive bred blue banded pipefish. The smallest of the species and captive bred means it east mysis!
