So, my wife asked if I could move my 55gal reef tank one foot to the right. It's a standard 55 gallon tank on a wooden cabinet stand. I have 8 fish, 11 corals, one anemone, and about 75 lbs of live rock. I'm hoping if I just remove half the water (since my anemone is half-way up in the tank), that I'd be able to slide it over. Any suggestions or hints?

Thanks,
Roy

Is it on one of those marine stands that come with the tank?

I would drain it down as low as you can possibly go (so fish still have enough to breath. Then I would use moving straps to lift and move the whole setup at once. All said and done it should only take a couple minutes to move and refill.

Also make sure everything is nice and level after the move
