Just set up my first saltwater tank (FOWLR) and found this in a piece of cured live rock. What the heck is it and how can I remove it. Whether it’s harmless or not, I don’t like it’s ugly mug.

Hard to tell as its not likely open all the way I agree could be a feather duster.

You can see the Feathers on one of them in the top photo, very much tucked in. also the tube is soft.

I moved it out front where I can watch it. Not one of the prettier varieties like I’ve seen when searching, but I’ll probably leave it be.

Depending on what fish you have/get. It could wind up as someone's dinner. Enjoy it while you have it. :)
