I’m pretty new to the reefing hobby and I just got my 20 gallon long yesterday. I also have an Aqua clear 70 as well. Should I keep it as just the filter or make it into a job refugium?

Keep it as a filter for now until you get more comfortable with this hobby.

I can assure you that once you do, you will be converting that 20 long into a sump for use on a bigger tank!

Another question then. Should I just use the filter media that comes with it or replace it with something else?

What media comes with it? If its just filter floss, and carbon use it for now.
I know folks use Marine Pure in HOB filters once they get a Bio load going.
