Ok so this is gonna be a weird question because it is not for a saltwater tank. It is for my new turtle tank. I am replacing my old, ugly, super scratched 125 gallon fish only with a new, nice a clean 125 gallon. I want to take the old 125 and upgrade my turtles 90. Now I hate canister filters. They are a pain, loud, and ineffective. I am unsure about drilling the old tank. I was thinking about taking an old HOB overflow I have and reworking it. Basically the turtle tank will only be full about 3/4. I was thinking of lowering the inside box of the overflow and using PVC to make a new U-Tube long enough to make it down to the inside box. Would this work?
