I'm going this week to pick up a sump that I found. (I'll include photos) The sump is pre-designed to have 2 filter socks. However the HoB overflow for my tank size only has 1 bulkhead. My question is what direction I should go with.
I could....
1 Get a larger overflow with 2 bulkheads

2 split the plumping into 2 lines with a V

3 not worry about the additional filter sock spot

My tank is a 90 gallon
Sump is 36x12x12

Honest advice - I'd drill the tank and get an overflow with two drains minimum. Those u tubes will either start building up with algae or if the flow is too slow or fast they accumulate air and eventually break the siphon. I didn't have an eshopps but a similar design and it lost its siphon.

But for your question specifically run the single drain pipe to the chamber on the far right. That way the water will overflow into both socks on its own.

Unfortunately my tank is already about 2 years old. Not going to be able to break it down to drill some holes. Trying to do the best with what I have

You always want an overflow with 2 drains. I used a PF-1000 on a 75 gallon tank. With 2 drains you can tune it to be quiet by making one a full siphon and one an emergency.

thats a good idea wvned! did you have any siphon break issues with the eshopps? i would always be worried personally. I used a cpr overflow 10 years ago but it gargled
