Holes from over driven screws in stands.

I'm all for strengthening my stand. However, going about it is going to be very tricky. I will take some pictures.

I have offered you a simple solution that requires no modification and a minimum of supplies as well as a means to finish with Alder or another species that will take stain well. I am not sure what is tricky about it.

If you can't move the stand out from the wall, we can talk about how to add a shear panel inside in one or two pieces that will both add lateral strengths and support the rear back rail and transfer the load to the bottom rail.

Given what was constructed so far, I think it would be best if you described what you are going to do before you do it. I would hate for you to work in vein.

If you can't get to the back of the stand to add the shear panel...

You can add a piece of 1/2" plywood INSIDE the stand on the back wall. Attach it to the center and side legs. It will both stiffen the stand to prevent racking and carry the load from the top rail that the tank sits on.

It should be cut to fit, touching the bottom of the top rail and resting on the bottom wood floor.

As I promised. More pictures. It's difficult to get them because of the angle and everything in the way. My fish room is 7' x 9' .

This first picture is the inside right end. I could take out the controller board but I'm not going to like it. I'm maxed out for clutter.

Second picture is outside of right end.
I really really don't want to move any of that right now.

Stand for auxiliary tanks. One tank for ATO and one for water changes. Same design as the DT stand except I built the auxiliary stand and a friend built the DT. First two stands I ever designed.

The idea is for the corners and of the aquarium to be supported with a direct connection to the floor, not supported by hardware. Whether it’s a solid connection of lumber to the floor, in a single piece or pieced together, it should go from the very corner of the tank all the way to the floor with zero gaps.
