Holiday Reef Recap: Did you get any reef-related Christmas presents?

Christmas has come and gone for another year (yes, I realize that some gifts are yet to be given and received in this holiday season), so let’s take a moment to see what aquarium gear or other reef stuff showed up under your tree or in your stocking. I realize that some of you may have received some well-deserved coal (hopefully in the form of activated carbon), but hopefully you also unwrapped some other saltwater items. Please let us know if you got any reef-related Christmas presents? If so, we’d love to see pictures!

Nothing here so I voted other. Kids and grandkids were scattered around in other places so I skipped Xmas this year. My Gal worked a full shift and I spent the day hanging with the dogs and doing some tank stuff. It was worth not receiving gifts to be able to just relax. Thanksgiving was enough holiday cheer to last me for a while. Gatherings like holidays stress me out too much.

Pretty good aquarium Christmas haul this year:
-- Aqamai KPS pump to try to add some shenanigans to my flow situation
-- Backup TM hydrometer since I finally broke my first one after a couple of years
-- Hanna Checktemp just so I can cause myself grief about something I've never really worried about before
-- Not sure why I got 2 ICP tests since that's twice as many as I've ever done but we'll see

My wife and I do not buy for each other at Christmas, and only buy for the kids. So I guess no I didn’t get anything reef related.
It amazes me that adults receive presents on Christmas.

If it were up to me, I'd go the "bah humbug" route.
Alas, large extended families = multiple adult gift exchanges (pretty much required, for me anyway)

My husband bought me surprise seamonkeys. I am not disappointed

Very large extended family - we used to all be together at Christmas. It got out of hand, so we simply drew names from a hat at thanksgiving. Doing so made things much easier.

Wife and I decided to buy some fish and corals for each other for gifts. We went to a LFS and picked out what we wanted together.

I got this pectinia from my wife. After a week of being asked what I wanted for Christmas and me telling her nothing she asked again while I was checking out Tidal Gardens cyber Monday sale. I saw the Pectinia and told her this. Kids got me these beautiful prints to hang around my tank. Blessed.

I'm kind of with you, but, we don't do presents very often on other holidays so we usually do something. Nothing reef related though

Santa (aka The Other Half) brought us a lovely 40-gallon tank and stand, and the parents added a Hanna Checker (Alk). Finally graduating from my Fisher-Price My First Reef Tank(tm) after a year and I can't wait to get it set up!
