I just got a small frag of Hollywood stunner chalice and I'm looking for ideas for placement. I seem to keep seeing conflicting information online. Also sounds like they need a good amount of room around them.

Based on everything I have read I'm thinking of putting it where the single larger blue mushroom is kind of on the bottom left at a 45° angle.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

They are hardy coral and not too picky. Anywhere on the sand where they still get light is probably fine. They can also handle being further up as well. Anywhere in the vicinity of that blue mushroom would be good.

I would place it low. Maybe on that lower far left rock. They like to grow upward. In my experience, stunners can adapt to just about any lighting or flow pattern. While they are pretty aggressive, and put out fairly long stinger tentacles, they aren't nearly as damaging as I thought they would be.

Here's mine. It's about 3 years old and has been fragged quite a few times. Lately, I've let it grow because I really like the growth pattern and the fish like to hide in it.

Oh yeah. A note of caution. They grow like crazy.

That is STUNNING, no pun intended. Sick growth pattern.

As others have mentioned, it doesn't matter because it'll just be everywhere soon enough! In all seriousness, lower 1/3rd of the tank in the shade would be optimal imo.

Thanks. Another word of caution. With all of the other corals, I'm dosing an insane amount of Alk and Cal.
That's to be expected, but I have seen many stunners but that takes the cake.
I currently dose AFR and have built a dual stage regulator in anticipation of graduating to a calk reactor in the future to meet those needs.

Agree, love that structure. I have one but it's grown into a large, soup bowl shape, with a rim and everything but that nothing like yours. Pretty cool.
