I think his translator wasn't working because he was writing in Spanish. Spanish is easy to learn compared to Mandarin or any of the other Asian languages (Japanese, Korean, etc). Just gotta learn basic grammar then listen to, watch, and read lots of Spanish content. My Spanish teacher always rants about how learning another language is like thinking in two minds. That's why he always recommends reading and podcasts so you can start thinking in the language quickly to improve.

Unfortunately, I’m only fluent in two languages: English and R2R. :(

I only eat, drink, think, speak, and dream in lighting, flow, alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, nitrates, phosphates, reactors, etc. Beyond that, I’m totally illiterate.

I have one and honestly, I would put this in the same category as the Black Tang: Ugly and Expensive! :) I might be alone but a Purple Tang looks better.

Of all the tangs I have, the OG HG tang would be the male, blond Naso with streamers! :)

IMO only,
That is extremely ugly but rare fish.

In my opinion the oddity of this makes it gorgeous. I so want one.

Yes - 8x3x2.5 (450gal). Just made a video update in my build thread. Naso tangs can grow big quickly. Mine are now 8”+.

I have a very similar tank and a blonde. I’m really nervous about adding a second. But, the Naso to me is like a whale shark. Just keeps to themselves, and grazes on everything. I added 5 tangs at the same time, one was the naso, another was a Lt Tang. The Naso, and the others, really have grown terribly too much in the last 3-4 months. But the LT, holy crap. It’s got to be 3 times size already. I’ve never seen a fish grow like this.

I’ve never had a Lt Tang before but had a vlamingii that I lost due to velvet outbreak. That dude grew from 2.5” to 7”+ in less than 18mos! So still a “slow” grower compared to a Lt?

On the second day, he moved into a pretty deep cave under a large rock. Ironically, food from my InD AF4 would float directly onto this cave 5 times a day. This fish never, I mean, never would come out of the cave. About a week ago. I nearly broke my neck. At first I thought “who the F put a fish in my tank. Its color has changed some and it’s like it got stretched. It’s every bit of 3.5 inches now. That an inch a month. Maybe I can use this fish as the excuse to commission the 1400g display I want, sooner then I am planning to…

I like them when they are young, but as they mature, they get that dorky snoot which is too much for me

Eeek! That’s scary fast but I love fast growing fish as well - yes, perfect excuse to get a bigger tank! Hope your plan goes through. My friend has a 1,000gal reef. You don’t appreciate it until you’re standing next to it. I can’t imagine a 1,400gal - that’s a colossal of a tank!

It will, but it’s a multi year deal. I have to decide proximity. Do I want it in my main living section of my house. Or. I have 2 master suites in my house, 1 up 1 down. The down one is part of an addition that is like a private wing. There are many many perks to doing it there. The biggest is, if I lost a panel, I could prevent water getting to my main living space. The down side is, I wouldn’t be in main living portion of my house often, lol. But I have to cut my slab there and put some support in place, I don’t in the main living space. Like I said it’s gonna happen, lol. It could be a big mistake, one you can’t undue. Man, this one is a tough one.

I’m really curious on this LT. it’s growing so disproportionately when compared to the others.

lol - that was hilarious! I’ve learned a politically-correct word today so thank you!

I was going to pick up a 6” sohal from a buddy this weekend but hearing all these “rectum openings” of a fish, I’ll back off.

Clown tangs can be had for cheap, 35 dollars while Sohal about 250 or so. They are both beautiful but I don't think I can keep them in my tank without putting myself, and the rest of my fish at risk so they are not coming home with me.

This from onset has been a great fish. May chase at feeding time otherwise a good citizen
