I used to get zoas shipped "dry" just wet newspaper so they dont dry out

I really like this method. I've received a few different packs of zoas this way and they all were great upon receipt of the package.

As for the OP. Get a 7x7x7 box and line it with styrofoam yourself. You can buy it from Lowes or wherever.
I just shipped a 2.5lbs box from San Fran to Jersey for ~$50 and they got it by 9:30. Live and learn.

Another thing that can really reduce the cost of shipping FedEx is linking your fedex account (which is free to sign up for) to your ebay account. It's an automatic 25-30% discount.

I bet you all didn't know about that :)

I used specimen cups, packed with peanuts in a styrophome box, weighed 3 pounds for 6 frags, shipped from Florida to Washington overnight for $35, if you do it online theres a big discount too, print your own label then just drop it off at the desk. Oh and I used USPS, cheapest normally.

It makes me wonder how companies like cherry corals have free ship frag packs and frag packs that are $160

because they get there stuf for really low prices from the wholesaler.... they dont buy expensive and sell expensive... dont you guys no that?????!! they buy really cheap bulk items but quilty and sell it for a high ammount cause there a well known vendor for putting out good stuff on the market.

+1 richie. we all learned i shipped to florida and i paid 79$ with insurance. for a 7x7x7 box weighed only 3 pounds. that was ups also.

But now i like the USPS tracking thingy its so Good and it arrives by 12pm or your money back. Great thing cause its it comes at 12.01pm your money is refunded.

you can fit five 1" frag plug in those specimen cup.2 glued to the bottom of the cup and 3 to a piece of foam that float on top with the stem cut off fill all the way with water.double ziplock bag.I just ship through usps and they get there before 12 noon to where ever they offer next day.weigh less then 3lbs

you think scolys are really expensive when stores buy them...??? there like 40$ at least detroitcorals has really nice scolys for 40$ and then stores sell them 150-300$ just because of the size and color... its so discusting. Me and my girl have 1 scoly we paid 200$ for it, insane. But i liked it. But these prices someteims are stupid....

Places like Cherry Corals don't pay anywhere near the same prices hobbyists pay for shipping. For example I had to ship a package across the country overnight and it was $124 fedex. I then checked what it would cost if it was my company that was shipping and it was only $23. Their rates are negotiated based on volume. Also you can save a bit by choosing next day end of day apposed to before noon.

FedEx Priority Shipping for me costs approximately $65-$75 per shipment. I use new Uline boxes that are 11x10x9 and usually weigh about 4-5 lbs with coral. With a FedEx account, you get a 16% discount by printing your own labels. I recently noticed that the standard shipping cost has gone up. Standard shipping now costs about $7 dollars less than priority shipping. The uline boxes new, cost $13. I live near Detroit by the way. If its a residential address, the price goes up. If you live on the outskirts of town, the price goes up. If you want Saturday delivery... the price REALLY goes up.

Well i just as well vent also i singed up an account with fedex which im in the midwest i have even called a rep to try to get cheaper rates that didnt work either on the average in runs me 68 dollars to ship a package lets say 8x8x8 you have to ship alot to get good rates everone else sweetens fedex pocket

just shipp USPS. its freaking cheap as hell. and they give you a shipped by 12noon or your money back. and free insurance. and you can purchase your own too. and it has tracking.

ALWAYS set up and print the shipping labels in line too. They charge a HUGE markup if you come in and have them put in the information. I have quoted prices online for about 30% less just by doing it before you go.
