So I made the mistake of getting a falco/spotted hawkfish without knowing that they will attack my shrimp.
Usually I look up fish and plan out my purchases but my LFS gave me one for 10 bucks.
I couldn’t say no. Plus I have 3 tanks, about to be 4 this week.

After he killed a fire shrimp, and a camel shrimp, I decided it was time to get him out and put him in a different tank.

I tried a few nights with 2 nets and couldn’t get him.
Frustrated, I started looking at fish traps.
40-50 bucks?
For some plastic???
Yes I know this is an expensive hobby but Jesus it’s molded plastic.

All this to say, I made one and it worked EXACTLY as I planned.
Threw some music shrimp inside a betta bowl that I get when I buy corals from petco.
Cut the hole a little bigger and bam!
Just figured I’d share my victory against those little buttholes! As soon as he got in it was enough movement and air to knock over the scoop and he floated to the top.
Best part was I got to watch it alllll happen!
BOOM!
