I've only been using the powermodule since this past spring(just coming up on a year of use). I like the ability to adjust the white balance with the LED's.

Previously I ran just a 6 bulb sunpower with 2 purple+, 2 blue+, 1 coral+, and 1 actinic.

Keep in mind, you can adjust the look to our eyes by just playing with the bulb placement(put a coral+ in front as opposed to a blue+ for a more whiter look to our eyes).

Just did my weekly maintenance, and the tank looked so good. Thought I would break out the filters, and grab some pics.

So my wife(CFO) has given me the go ahead to buy a chaoti leopard!

I will talk to my LFS, as this is a rather delicate fish, and I would rather not have it shipped.

I hate spending the money on a fish, but if I ever want to keep my holy grail, I suppose I'll have to. Besides it's only money, and I can't take it with me.

Should have told my MIL I wanted money for x-mas. LOL

I know females are way more aggressive, had a regular female maroon when I was just a mere newbie. Being my OSC is female, I'm hoping the maroon stays male so he's not so dang mean!

Why oh why is such a beautiful fish so dang mean?

Never thought they would pair up, but I have read of it happening on the rare occurrence. If they get along, and the maroon doesn't become a murderer, I'll be happy.
Hi there! I am in a similar situation and was wondering what ended up happening with your clowns?

Fish are all swimmingly fine. I like my SPS better since I'm SPS dominate. LOL

LPS always look better when I shoot the pics. Just more to get a pic of, and SPS colors don't really show through with my novice camera skills.

Thanks for stopping by!

Well I went for a ride to the LFS yesterday.......

They had some tiny little tuxedo urchins. They were so tiny and cute, I just had to have 2 of them. They are literally the size of a dime, maybe smaller. Just so darn cute! Of course my wife fell in love with a transitioning lyretail anthias. So it came home with me. Not super excited as every time I have tried anthias, they end up refusing to eat after a while and waste away. We will see what happens this time.

On another note, if anyone is familiar with an ATI powermodule when you loose power to the unit, the clock resets to 8am(ATI says they are not supposed to do that as they have a capacitor that should hold the time, and yes, I have a brand new circuit board with the capacitor). So it seems my aging apex classic seems to reboot every once in a while, which resets the powermodule. I often times wake up at 2am to go pee and my lights are on full bore!

I decided to take the powermodule off the eb8 and into a regular wall outlet that's right behind my tank. In doing so I have to pull out the cabinet that's behind my tank to get to the hole in my cabinet for the plugs. In doing so I found my pintail wrasse all dried up on the floor! No idea how he got through my lid, but it's happened in the past. I'm guessing he jumped sometime monday night as he wasn't completely dried out.

Certainly one of my favorite wrasses, and one I will most certainly replace.

Mm yes…nice to see someone else thinks a tiny ball of spines is cute :grinning-squinting-face:
They truly are!
And they add that sense of the creatures that are unusual in the depths of the oceans ;)

That’s true, but they no longer go near my smaller fish haha.

That tank is gorgeous! What’s the stocking currently?
Umm...... have to think a bit....

1 black occ clown
1 lemon peel angel
1 transitioning lyretail anthias
1 blue eye kole tang
1 moyers leopard
1 melagris leopard
1 black leopard
1 wheelers goby with pistol shrimp
1 lantern basslet
breeding pair of mandys
yellow coris wrasse
1 purple dottyback
1 starry blenny
2 tuxedo urchins
1 short spine pincushion urchin
3 fighting conch

Of course many snails, and crabs for CUC.

Think thats everything?

All the fish were hiding in that pic because I just had my hands in the tank blowing off the rock, and pulling some algae.
