This should work for ya...

Edit,
Unless your connecting to pex tubing. Or dont have a threaded fitting to thread into.

I do not. But I’m not sure I need one. There’s an open access to my sewer line where I’m installing my filter that I can drop the waste water line into

A saddle valve is a clean way to connect the waste water line and you won’t have to worry about the hose coming out but yes you can get away without it.

Thanks. Do they make something like this to prevent the product line from coming out of a trash can?

I'm still working on that myself. It's a standard thread not a NPT. everything at the hardware store was NPT. This should work.

Just wanted to follow up here and thank you all. I scrapped the 1/2 - 3/8 reducer coming out of my ball valve and got a threaded compression fitting in its place. Everything is working. I appreciate all the feedback.

This ended up working for me if you decide to hard plump into a main line. I wanted to do it this way so the flow wasn't restricted by a faucet.
