How bad is hose water for fish tanks? I just upgraded to a 55 gal and it would be alot easier to fill it up with my hose than it would to bring 5 gallon buckets to a distilled water station. If i use a dechlorinator or just let the water sit for a few days to evaporate the chlorine should i be okay?

I do not recommend using your tap/hose water, even with a dechlorinator. There are many other chemicals and nutrients that you do not want in your tank. Take your time and start right with RODI or distilled and you will be glad for it.
For the cost of distilled water over time an rodi unit may be an option that would pay for itself. They're pretty simple to install and if space is an issue there is an adapter available that allows you to hook to your tap for removal and storage as needed. Normally can be found pretty inexpensive on Craigslist (which id recomend changing the filters in before use). I started with the trips to Wally World and 5 gallon buckets. Didn't take long before I got tired of that. The second benefit is that you know exactly how the filter is maintained. Can also snag a tds meter from Amazon and know exactly what your water quality is.

I realize you've received great advise above and ran out for clean water. I'd like to add to the comment about getting yourself a RO/DI unit of your own. I realize there is an upfront cost but the savings of both money and headaches is worth every penny.
Here is a great system for your review. This package actually comes with a set of replacement filters and a handheld TDS meter. They have the same package less replacement filters for around $30 less.
