my tank been running for 9 months, and it just got to me that my waterbox have a check valve comes from waterbox directly, and it’s on the return line. And I’m reading all the horror stories about the check valve and how bad they are. And I can’t stop thinking about it at work. How bad is is the situation?

When you get home shut the return pump off and see what happens.

My WB has a check valve that flutters and is noisy for up to three minutes when the pump is turned off. They sent me a new one but I think if I get around to installing it I'm just going to rip the flapper out so it won't be a check valve any longer. I confirmed with waterbox that the sump will hold the full volume when the return pump is if as long as the return nozzles are not too deep in the water. I'm just going to drill syphon breaks in them to be safe. I'll paste the email below. My tank is a 330.7 so yours could be different.
