How do I remove this frag plug from this plating montipora?

So what did you do? Did you pop it off or cut the stem off the plug?

Its probably just sliming from being handled and put in a new tank, lots of corals will slime will put them in the tank. Put it in a higher light and higher flow area, there should be enough flow on it to blow that slime off.

Thanks

Ended up using pliers to cut the stem off the plug, then used epoxy to attach the side of the remaining frag plug to the rock

As for the slime, yeah it was handled quite roughly and slimed up pretty well, the digi I added also did the same

Hi there
I'd like to remove this frag plug that is superglued to this plating montipora. But whenever I get a razor blade underneath I am worried I'm going to crack the coral in half, any advice?

I use a dremel with a diamond wheel to cut off the stem of the plug. Then glue putty to the bottom of the plug and glue the putty to the rock. The reason I do both glue and putty is because snails tend to dislodge the coral if I use just putty or just glue.
