Do I clip right under the chalice or do I take a razor blade to the base of the plug? I’m assuming i can just cut right under the chalice and glue that straight down to the tile.

why not just leave it on the plug and let it grow out?
They will eventually encrust the entire plug and grow outwards and you will probably never see it again after its done that.

Sure I know that but i rather take it off the plug and let it encrust the tile.

Honestly, if you plan to frag it eventually, keep it on the plug - That’s the easiest way to get another frag after it grows out onto the tile.

Mycedium doesn't encrust like most chalice. That is going to plate out in a nice bright circle. Razor at the base but be careful to not bump or slip or you will break the fragile coral.
