How do you cure ich on inverts?

I read somewhere that inverts can carry ich?? For the longest time I thought they can't but what do I know. So my question is, if they really can have/carry ich, how do you cure it? Cuz inverts can't be dipped nor can you use cupermine on it. :squigglemouth:
 
Time is the only thing as far as I know. Marine ich has a specific life cycle. If it can't find a host (only fish) then it will die. The whole cycle can take 8 weeks or more though. But for instance if your tank had 0 fish, then in 8-10 weeks you could say the tank (and inverts) was now free from ich.
 
So that means I have to put the CUC in qt for 8 weeks before they can be a benefit for my tank.... well, that sucks
 
I may have missed something but I was under the impression that inverts could not get ich. I always dipped them in separate tank water before adding them to the main tank.
 
I read a study several years ago sying that Invertebrates can get Ich. Snails were the most susceptible, it can get inbetween the joints of Crabs and Shrimp. I have recently looked for this study and can't find, its been atleast 4-5 years since I read it. If I remember correctly, it was done by somebody from University of Miami.
 
yep, I read that they can't get ich but if they come from a tank that has ich, they definitely carry it.
 
Anything wet can carry diseases, like when I introduced ick with macro algae I bought to feed my tang. I'm contemplating a qt for all new additions, snails, rocks, and macro.
However I did do a peroxide dip on my new corals hoping it'll destroy any pathogens on them, so far my clowns are fine though I know the tank the frag was in had issues with clowns dieing.
