I had mouton712 weld this up. We used a couple pieces of angle iron to sit on top of the tank and the rest was 3/4 square tubing. We didn't think we could get to the rear of the stand to mount a rail, plus under the tank there are no supports its wide open.

I have two relatively “creative” hanging systems. One is using counter-top brackets and a floating canopy. The second is a mix of the GHL mitras mounting bracket and an ati sunpower.

I ordered my reef radiance dm-155e's last week and am looking for some creative ideas or even the 'norm' on how I should hang them. After reading a few different threads, I figured I'd start a new one for people to post some pics of their own tanks with lighting - how they hung it etc. Once mine arrive I will be posting some pics and feedback as well - just hoping to grab some ideas in the mean time!

Any brand, any type, any way... let me see your lights!!
6 foot tank, 2 x 75 cm lights - 2019 "Pop Bloom" fully programmable 4 channel system by Dsuny. The mounting brackets came with lights but wouldn't fit over back lip. Because the aluminium channel slides into the housings, I, instead, mounted them from the ends and added an aluminium angle to keep it from bowing down in the middle. I can adjust the height easily by loosening 2 screws both ends and sliding up or down.

1/2" EMT and steel cable, chain would work well also-

Drill holes in the arms and put in eyebolts to make it nicer, and I have since added S-hooks for quick detach functionality. This was temporary so I just used keyrings and silicone wire ties to make it stay put.

Doing the upgrade the same way for the 40 breeder build- just screw the pipe clamps to the back of the stand.

Can you please tell me a bit more about this piping? I have a Aquatic Life Hybrid 59" fixture, with 3 Ecotech Xr30W's I need to mount above my 180 gallon tank.
