Recently it is cold in the Netherlands. Sadly whenever it's cold my pH drops. Normally I can get it at 8.5-8.7 (tested with multiple probes.)
Using the following products
1. Reverse light cycle in the sump
2. Kalkwasser in ATO
3. Co2 scrubber
4. Dosing ph plus two part from reef zlments
However now that it is cold it dropped all the way back to 7.8-8. luckily I somehow managed to boost ph to 8 stable for now.
It's this weird thing were both kalkwasser and the two part don't work when my pH is to low they only work when my pH hits 8.2-8.3.. I don't know how that's possible but it does not give any long term effect otherwise.
Recently I found microbe lift ph increase. It say to increase pH by 0.2 if you dose 5 ml in a 100 liter aquarium. Does anybody know how this works because I thought pH only increases when alkalinity also increases. It doesn't say anything on the bottle that it will also increase alkalinity....
It does say it contains electrolytes but I don't really know what that means
Also if I wanted to increase my pH from this should I directly dose everything at once or multiple doses per day? Because I have a feeling small amounts during the day won't raise it much.
