25+ years, all low tech systems, peaked in 2007 then moved towards anemones and softies which the grandkids liked better

1997-1999…started watching brs YouTube videos a few years back and couldn’t believe how much the hobby had changed, so i got back into it three years ago. The 90s were the stone age compared to now.

My wife thought it was great I start getting involved in something outside of work.....now she just gives me "side eyes" when I'm looking at upgrades, equipment, or livestock but let's me do my thing cause it keeps me out of her business.....lol

My first salt tanks were in 1989 or so. There were years I didn't have any, but there were years I had 5. I guess it's been a little over 30 years now.

The most I’ve had set up at once was a 9 gal bow reef , a 90 gal fish only , a 75 mixed reef , 20 gal qt and a 15 gal freshwater

40+ years in freshwater and 2 years soon in saltwater.

I have to say it has been quite a ride and I’m still in a hard place, but trying to hang in there and keep going, because I love it so much !

Started in 1975 and went to about ‘79 then took a little hiatus till March of ’20 and got a (covid) quarantine tank, then another then another then another.
planning to coalesce them into my last tank which should last till 2040 (GLW)

I’ve been keeping freshwater tanks for almost 30 yrs. Just got into saltwater 11 yrs ago. I love both sides of the hobby… I’m always learning something new.
