Added in a bta yesterday, all perameters are good, and it has taken foothold on a rock, but doesn’t seem to be fully opening up. Seems deflated and the tentacles aren’t haven the “balloon” look. Am I being impatient. I’m if it doesn’t like the light or the flow it would just move correct?
I posted a pic of that it looks like in my tank, then on the tank before I got it, in someone else’s tank

They will often adjust to water parameter changes by deflating and then slowly reinflating. Is the foot "sticky" ? Mouth isn't gaping or anything?

Not sure what you mean by sticky, it has grabbed a hold and has stayed in one place. Mouth is not gaping. I did see earlier today, he tentacles were in his mouth after I dropped a few pieces of mysis on him when I was feeding my fish

Sticky means it'll hold on. If you touch it with your finger, it'll kinda feel like a piece of tape.

Sounds like it just needs time to adjust.

They can take a couple days to cycle water through them. Let it be and it’ll do its thing. If it’s not happy there then it’ll move on its own. So I would just keep an eye on it. I bet in a couple days it’ll be okay. Take a look at my build thread. I’ve become the anemone whisperer apparently lol

I'm looking to get a BTA for my lagoon tank. I'd like to know did it walked itself up towards the top of the rockscape?

I have a top ledge where I think would be perfect for a small BTA (not ready for SPS yet)

Also I'd like to know if you had any experiences where the BTA stung other corals or went on a marathon around the tank.

Mine does. It's stung my Stylophora and a Bubblegum Digitata.

Top center is the Digitata and Anemone, top left in the back is the Anemone and Stylophora.

It also irritates the red Montipora Cap in the middle.

Yeah, I've only got 5 in my DT currently. Trying to decide if I want to remove them. I'm thinking yes.

Yes! Check out my build thread. Anemones split so much, took out almost all my sps and now I really have an anemone dominated tank lol

It’s going to take me hours to get them all out. But one of these days I need to widdle their numbers down to like 1 again lol

I just peeped the thread and you got a lovely setup. With my tank only being 25 gallons, more like 17-20 w rock & sand, I'd be looking at a diaster if my nem starts to split.

The real estate is quite expensive on my tuff haha. Maybe I'll past and just stick to monti caps or something like birdsnest if I really want to feel adventurous.

Thank you! I think my situation is unique? Idk how but apparently I have like the perfect conditions for them to thrive. Nothing causes them to split and they get huge before they do. Then they split 3-4 ways. This is in a 105g and I lost all realistste for sticks due to them. I just glued about 6 sps frags I just got and want to try to keep the nems away from them. This time I have a plan lol

Love the tank, but holy crap, are you feeding them every week, what do perameters typically look like?

I don’t target feed them at all, they only get what’s broadcast fed to the fish. They still go wild. I use RODI with RedSea blue bucket salt. I keep pretty typical parameters.
Temp 78
Salt 35ppm
Ph swings 8.0-8.3
Radion xr15 G6 pro lights. Some nems are sitting at 400+ par
Nitrates 5
Phos .1
Alk 9
Ca 450
Mg 1340

I really don’t do anything special for the nems and they stay super happy. Even after moving recently I thought I’d loose some due to water temp in the buckets. But every one survived. I have a pair of true percula clowns and they have claimed them all lol
