How long is too long to have the lights on? Can corals die from too much light?
I don't have an algae issue but just curious...

Zooxanthellae really only require 6-8 hours to photosynthesize, anything past that just grows algae and eats electricity ;) Corals can die from too much light, and in nature rarely experience more than four hours of intense light.
