How many RC (Remote Control) nerds are there here?

We had them growing up. We had a giant XTM nitro rock crawler that was tricked out and a Team Associated NTC3 that was tricked out with the 2-speed transmission. It was blazing fast. My brother enjoyed working on them and I painted the bodies. I think he still has them. Maybe one day I’ll get back into it.

I picked up 2 Associated RC18t2 cars off eBay. Been taking them apart tuning them up and learning to drive em. It’s pretty fun to build them up and rebuild them but I don’t understand where people find the room to race the big cars. I think I could go up to say 1:14 but nowhere to even practice with bigger cars

Always wanted to get into drones, but could never effectively fly them, i'd always crash ;Blackeye
It honestly depends on the drone. Cheap ones you get in the mall are junk. DJI all have GPS and tech that makes them hands free and very crash proof. You have to really try hard to crash them.

Best thing for anyone wanting to fly is get the Real Flight software and learn safe and sound on a computer. I’ve used Real flight from ver 1 to 8. I think they are coming out with 9 soon.

Whoops, 9 is out.

always loved RC since i was a kid, still have my Ergo 30 and 50, Blade 3D, Bixler2 and leccy brushless SU 27 DF pushing 2kg thrust, none have been flown in years, My RC buddy was killed in a MC accident, no interest in getting back into it.

I have two RC trucks, a Traxxas Emaxx and a Traxxas Rustler. I apparently only, and it hauls some serious butt!!! IMG_5177_edited.jpg have pictures of my Rustler due to my hard drive taking a deep dive not too long ago.

As much as li-po etc has taken over, for good reason. I'm a nitro guy. Still have my nitro 3.5cc outboard tunnel I built when I was like 12. Had a 5hp nitro truck that weighed 20lbs that when you gunned it could do a back flip. And you can't beat the smell and sound. Also flew planes as a young kid

I turn RC aircraft into tree confetti so I gave that up. Cant imagine what I would do to the newer jet powered aircrafts.
:/

I had lots of fun with the Grasshopper and the Super Hornet in my younger years.

…..But life took over...….y'all know the story.

Love seeing pics of that people are "driving" these days!

I started with helis, then Rc crawlers. The helis were crash and burn or cash and burn for me. The reef hobby rescued me. Now I only spend money on my tank, and my wife likes the reef almost as much as I do. Which gives us a hobby to share.
