How many should I buy?

Just started adding coral to my tank and figured that I would go from t5 to led. I was planning on getting the aqua illumination hydra 26. I would like to have only one above my tank because I would rather not spend an extra 300 for another. If my tank is about 36'' long, would I be able to get somewhat of coverage with just that one light? Even with it raised higher above my tank?

You should get two or you will have shadows. I have a AI Hydra 52 on a 23" tank, it could be a tad better.

I have decided that I probably shouldn't spend over half of a grand on a light for such a basic setup. I will most likely now just find a blue and white led reef growing fixture, since my lfs has some nice ones at a wide variety all for around 200-300. Does anyone have any recommendations for a lower end led light that is also effective?

My lfs just told me that they were selling their hydra 32 systems for about 300 apiece. I believe i will end up doing that and then making a custom stand for it

Could also go for the Kessil 150s which are around $160 on amazon. They aren't controllable though.

Thanks for all your input, but Im sticking with the hydra 52 they seem to work very well.
