true, there’s a lot of ups and down in this hobby. But sometimes, its well worth it.

The best part - when you reach the point of "cruise control". Yea, I'm somewhat prepared for basic emergencies (power outages, etc) But it is sure nice when all I do is clean the glass on both twice a week, and on the weekend I spend about an hour testing, refilling ATOs, cleaning skimmers & cleaning ATO optic sensors.

Yeah realistically if everything goes well, I should have spend only an hour on my 120 too. But you know there’s always something going on with the tank, at least for me.

overall my tank is doing ok, but some reasons my euphyllias started dying slowly. I have a bunch of euphyllias, most doing fine, and just slowly one after another started dying. I lost quit a few corals

Both of my tanks have euphyllias, a hammer in one and a frogspawn in the other both are rockin'. But for the life of me I cannot keep a torch. I've had dozens and they just slowly recede over time. Not within weeks but years.

3 displays and 2 full time quarantines. It’s more stressful than its worth most of the time.

That sucks. Again, 95% of my euphyllias are doing great. Without warning, one after another slowly receded then died away.

Stressful? Maybe get rid of some tanks? I used have 2, then I got rid of one and it was a right choice.

I have a total of three tanks. One reef and two freshwater. I’ve had more in the past but three is plenty now. They keep me busy enough.

180 salt, 29g fresh, & a 40b vivarium. The 29 is the most work. Salt takes maybe 30min a week if I clean the glass. Vivarium is almost self containing except for feeding flies.
That’s what I miss about keeping dart frogs. Once the viv was going good it was just a matter of culturing flies and keeping my mist king res full. They were pretty much hands off. Got even easier when I started putting little condiment cups with media in them for mini cultures in each viv once a month.
