How many watts gas generator

I used to run a 4000w portable generator for our outages. I got tired of hauling it out in wind/rain/snow/whatever hell, refilling gas, maintenance (degumming the carb is necessary!) spark plugs, bla bla bla. Sold it and plunked down some real cash for a whole home natural gas generator. Best thing I ever did lol. Thankfully the wife was cool with it since it cost a pretty penny. But, overall, the convenience and everything was worth it to us. Plus it increased resale value of the home.

What make Bean and I were discussing He likes a Kohler . I can get one easy but service is an hour away and I would not buy from the dealer . Briggs and Stratton make their own , used to make motors for Generac I am told but Generac dropped them. Briggs are pricy . the Generac cheapest to buy and run apparently. Tough choice since some one pointed out it also depends how often it would run. I can do my own install except hydro and have someone close to me to do that. Again though what do you have and like it?

Its not about consumption its about the possible combined load the furnace alone uses 960 watts when running

~400W here for the furnace, its actually running right now.

Notice the "AQUA" circuits - my tank is the #1 abuser in the house.

I have a 24kw Generac. I love it. It's got wifi so I can see what's going on with it, maintenance, and a 10yr warranty.

i have a 9500w peak 7500w running . I just needed something to keep my tanks and my pellet stove running and of course my servers and internet ; 4000w wouldnt cut it for me. I have a massive self hosted lib of tv/movies and so with at least my tanks and my internet/network running im golden

its got a remote start fob and push button start.

Good for you!

If you have the space, money and can easily obtain a permit, its the way to go.

Honda has a clean sine wave inverter and if you ever want to you can buy another a daisy chain them and double your output.

Good point with the sine wave being clean. Most people don't take this into consideration. Case and point: I have three EcoFlow batteries (two for camping excursions, one as a backup to a backup). The BMS with EcoFlow will not tolerate poor sine wave/inverter input(s) in terms of charging. IOTWs, these batteries will reject a poor source of AC (or DC) when it comes to re-charging.
