I've read that hyposalinity can "sometimes" kill your biofilter. How often is sometimes? I have an established qt tank with rock and sand, and I'm thinking about using hypo. The lights over the tank are very dim, so there's no algae. How much would I have to worry about an ammonia spike? Thanks!

The biofilter can take a hit, but it will usually bounce back just like with copper. For the most part your PH will be more of an issue than the biofilter I think.
