I be been dosing nopox since the start. Recently switched to 5% vinegar. At 40ml per day. No3 still rising.
Is there too much
Depends on tank volume.
How much nopox per day and for how long?
Carbon dosing mainly for nitrate reduction.

What’s the tank size?

I was at 13ml per day for as long as the tanks been running. Nearly 4 years. This kept No3 at 10ish ppm

I'm starting to suspect a rock I added early if rocks can leach NO3?

I've swapped because I have never managed to keep SPS alive. Lighting is 2x Hydra 32.
I suspect NOPOX being the cause. Softies and LPS are fine

Rocks can’t directly leach nitrate, but some can have excess organics that break down which can lead to nitrate.

If the rock was generally clean looking, it’s likely not the culprit. Usually ocean rocks with lots of sponges and organic matter that break down can increase nutrients.

I doubt it's the NOPOX....it is simply ethanol (vodka) mixed with acetic acid (vinegar). You can make your own by mixing 500 mls vinegar (5%), 375 mls vodka (80 proof), and 125 mls RO/DI. Dose as you would commercial NOPOX.
