Wondering how often people clean their skimmer collection cups. I clean mine about every 5-7 days. I don't see how anyone could clean It every day! But lets see.

the cup I clean out maybe once a week or so but probably about once a month I will pull the whole thing out of my sump and take it apart and clean eveything.

Anthony Calfo says it's important to clean skimmers daily. I don't do that, but I have tuned my skimmers in to skim "wet" and clean them every 3 days.

Every 3 days on my Aquafuge 2, I need to get a REAL skimmer :)

Not frequently enough! :(

I feel like when I clean it weekly its most efficient. By the end of the week the inside of the cone is just a thick layer of gunk which never builds up if you clean it too often.

I'm like 4-7 days. Usually between 3-4 days is when is really loads in the skimmate. Days 1-2 it's just getting going for me.

I voted weekly, but I used to do it daily and it seemed to work best that way. More in the cup, but less stuck inside the neck. Which is better ? who knows ??

About once a week.
Sometimes I just dump out the skimate without cleaning the neck.

We'll I have two and both require different cleaning, the asm clean about every two weeks. The cad light could use a cleaning every other day but only get to it once a week.

I clean mine about once every 2 weeks. I have a skimmer with and 8 inch cup rated for 250 gallons on my 75 so it holds plenty of waste. Seems to work better if I don't clean it out constantly.

I'm a little confused...skimmer, neck of skimmer or collection cup?

I clean my cup every time I empty it (about every 3-4 days), skimmer neck about every other time I empty the cup I wipe it off, completely disassemble and clean the skimmer about every 2-3 months.
