Saw a green moray eel for sale at the LFS, thought it would be a crazy addition to any reef! Lol d

Yep that’s it
Haha I recognized the tank setup and saw you were in SoCal. We were there last year when we were in town for RAP. Nice store and well stocked.

I'd be scared to clean a tank with a green moray, especially if they associate a human with food. I don't know how one would even deal with a large moray if it needed to be moved or something done with rockwork, clean wavemakers etc. 😬

I’d suggest a net for cleaning swimming pools. One on a loooong handle lol

But seriously if someone bought it how do they get it out of the holding tank ? What does something like that get put inside for a customer to take home? I don’t think a bag would be safe to contain a creature like that. Am I wrong?

Dont they get massive? Like 8' long?
They get bigger than that. Many years ago I was diving someplace in Mexico or Cancun and I saw a huge green moray. I pointed it out to the guy next to me and he must have thought he was Jacques Cousteau because he swam up to this thing which was under a rock about as big as a volkswagon bug and his tail was sticking out the other side.

He tried to tickle the beast under the chin. But the fish probably never met Mr. Cousteau and bit the guy almost up to his elbow.

Blood was flowing out all around the guy and the fish and I was hoping the moray would finish eating the Idiot so I could get on with my dive.

But other people started to come over so I had to go and help the guy by convincing the fish to let him go.

We wasted the rest of the beautiful day in a Mexican Hospital with Jacques. 😠

There is a small moray here in the center of this rock. Not a green one

He was missing half a finger before this dive

Yea seaside often carries some weird fish sometimes.

I’ve seen a Remora here quite often
