Hi, let me explain. First none of the online calculators accommodate my situation. Its a 60"L x 30"w x 20" h shallow tank. The builder did not make it all with 1/2". It is 1/2" bottom, 3/8" sides. Since I was not convinced of its integrity with 3/8". I did a 3" wide top and bottom eurobracing using 1/2" as well as a 10"w -1/2" center brace. It looks very solid altogether, and the water level is set to 17.5"h. I'm hoping for a safety factor of about 4 to tell my insurance. Any help? Thanks

I am not sure where you can get an accurate calculation online. The tank builder should provide the safety factor if it is requested.

*I've seen some very aquarium build savvy responses online, I figured this a decent place to ask if an engineer type person catches my post.

Do you have a reference? Off the top of my head wanted to be 100% safe I agree. However I am stuck with this tank and according to online calculators 3/8" at 18" h is ok. Therefore there must be away to factor in extra bracing etc.

60 x 18 with a euro is .50. half inch acrylic is actually smaller than .50". the calculator is slightly off and not exact.
