OK, I had a very nice green kenya tree but didn't like where it was. So, I removed it from the coral skeleton. It was very unhappy. I glued it to a small rock. That only last a day and it came off, as I know they tend to do. Then I tried rubber banding it to the rock. I didn't do it very tightly, but all that did was sever the bottom part where the rubber band was. So now I have the main piece and a tiny branch. I tried burying it in the sand, but the current is too strong, even though I turned it down. This tree, before I removed it, was around 8" tall when fully expanded, maybe more. Now the poor thing is only maybe 1.5" tall. I currently have it in a breeder box with a piece of rock, but the little piece is so tiny I can't guarantee it'll be in contact with the rock. The bigger piece I have laying on the rock, so maybe it'll attach. What else can I do? I know people say you can't kill these things, but I seem to be doing my darndest.
Any other tips for fixing this? I do have a woefully neglected QT tank. The lights are not meant for corals (9 gallon fluval flex). It's only have prazipro in it, no copper. Should I get that tank in order and move it over there for now? Not sure what else I can do to get this to attach to a rock.
