I've had a golden dwarf moray living in a critter-keeper in a QT tank for a while, and it is ready for the 220g DT. What I am wondering is: how do I get the eel to favor the spot I've chosen for it, rather than have it decide to live, say, in the back of the tank where I will never see it?

I did not plan ahead for the eel, so I don't have pvc pipes laying in wait. I've had enough experience with other sand/cave dwellers to know that where they live is up to them, but they can also be influenced by feeding, scaping, etc.

What are the tricks I can play for an eel to get it to be happy where I want it?

Funny.

I get the analogy though. I'll see if I can't reinforce the selected location by only feeding it in a spot that I like. Thanks guys!

You certainly can 'design' your rockwork to increase the chances of it staying generally where you want. To the example earlier, I have a rock pedestal in my tank for my anemone, and it stays there.

When my eel is ready to eat it cruises the tank. Before I thaw the food I tap on the glass with the tongs. It’s the signal.

I just tried to post a video of the eel feeding but the file size is too large.
