My phosphates are off the charts high and my nitrates are perfect. I assume the reason I have so much algae is because of the phosphates. I am wondering what the best way to lower my phosphates is. I have an algae reactor with chaeto which is not growing at all so would my best bet be dosing nitrates to make the algae reactor work or should I look for a chemical that only removes phosphates? Or is there a better way to achieve perfect parameters?

The 2 chemicals for this are GFO and Lanthanum chloride. There are various brands of both. GFO goes in a reactor, and LC drips into a sock and precipitates P out.

Are you able to recommend any brands?

Two Little Fishies Phosban-L works great. And you may want to look at the green hair algae as well.
I assumed the high phosphates were the cause of the hair algae and will look into the brand thanks!
