How to properly switch light?

I'm switching from Kessils 360we to Aquatic Life hybrid with Hydra 26. How do I acclimate the new fixture properly without hurting my corals?

I know there is an acclimation feature for the hydras, but how about the T5s? Should I run it for an hour for the first week, then slowly ramp it up each week till I get to the maximum of four hours?

Thanks. Should I adjust the height as well? Any chance you know what is the optimal height for a 36 long fixture over a 3 feet tank?

8 inches is where I had mine. I had a kessil ap700 with 4 t5s over a 40 breeder.
