Absolutely,

There are at least three ways that I know of as of now - I'm new to this :)

1. Through a web browser via port forwarding - same as apex
2. Through a GHL Connect App on your phone or tablet - apex doesn't have an app
3. Through MyGHL.com - equivalent to fusion.

Weird. I don't remember setting up port forwarding for the Apex. Unfortunately I can't seem to connect with GHL Connect App. (Unless I'm directly connected to the hardware hotspot) and after linking MyGHL nothing even shows up in MyGHL :/

What is your Wifi-Modus set to? It's in the System > Communication menu, mine is Client & Access Point and I can use the app wherever.

You can but dont have to setup port forwarding, I cover it all. If fusion went down I could still control apex via a custom port from anywhere in the world - I did the same for Profilux.

Did you follow all steps in the manual?

Initially connect to its own hotspot, go through networking and add your home ssid and password. the system will reboot and connect to home wifi, then add the device again via GHL connect but now while your phone is connected to home network. Once you do that it will prompt you to connect to myGHL. I actually did that step from a loptop connected to the same wifi by bring up the IP via browser and using what I believe is the default username/password (admin/Starfish), once you provide credentials to myGHL it will start communicating with the cloud. You will then have ability to control it via web.

I dont have the manual with me ATM but I would recommend you print a copy and re-read.
